  • What is the difference between an API and an API Product?

API stands for Application Programming Interface, which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. An API product bundles resources (such as API proxies) in order to provide a specific level of access and functionality for client app developers. On the other hand an API product typically specifies a list of API proxies, along with access limits, API key approval method, and other configuration that should be in place for all of the bundled proxies.

  • What is the difference between the sandbox URL and a live URL?

Sandbox APIs are oriented towards enabling consuming apps, independent of API producers, to construct and test software that uses published APIs. Effectively, the APIs available on sandbox URLs emulate the contracts of production API Products. Perfect for consuming apps to use for building MVPs before moving on to the live URLs.

  • Where do I go to request API keys?

An API key is a unique identifier used to identify and authorize a user, developer, or application to an API. An API key should be unique and specific to an environment and can help provide metrics, reporting and logging to a specific consuming application.

    To request an API key:

    • Navigate to APIs...
